So, what is the Green Smoothie Challenge all about?

Basically, its an economical and simple cleanse. All you need is some produce and a blender.

What the Challenge is NOT about is doing it exactly right the way I tell you. It's much more of a journey to find out what works for you! Its about freeing yourself from doing what others say will work for you because only you can know that!
The Challenge is an opportunity to come inside yourself, to take a break from digesting food so you can get in touch with how you are digesting life.
We often use food to numb out how we really feel. And as long as we stuff it all inside, our un-dealt-with emotions will continue to surface in self-sabotaging behavior (so we can heal it....that is the purpose of self-sabotage, to expose what's there that we are not aware of, so we can heal it!). It comes out as over-eating, addictions, anger, irritability, etc... and leaves us perplexed at why we do what we do.
So, this year, I invite you to move beyond the idea of taking the Challenge to simply lose weight. I invite you to take it as a way to honor yourself, to get to know yourself a little better, to become curious about why you do what you do instead of self-shaming and judging...to bring compassionate awareness to yourself.
Many people, over the years have begun the Challenge only to sabotage it and then feel like they've failed. I invite you to consider the possibility that success is more about becoming your own observer, finding understanding about why you start things and don't finish them and then feel like a failure. This is a time of discovery, of becoming a friend to ourselves. Only then can we become free of our own self-imposed paralysis of getting where we want to go. Only then can we free ourselves from the fear of not being enough, of identifying and judging ourselves based on a number on a scale or how well we stick to our self-deprivation plan.
Now we move our focus to where we want to go instead of on where we do not want to be. We bring our attention to who we are becoming instead of on who we think we are not. And we meet ourselves right where we are, with love and compassion.
How's that? It's the only way I have found to truly be free from the chronic dieting cycle. We welcome our self-sabotage and we open to the powerful teacher it is. We find a sense of reverence for ourselves right where we are and we start there.
